Very nice article. I definitely love this website. Keep writing!

Spot on with this write-up, I actually believe this website needs much more attention. I’ll probably be back again to read more, thanks for the info!

Aw, this was an incredibly nice post. Taking the time and actual effort to make a very good article… but what can I say… I hesitate a whole lot and never seem to get anything done.

Greetings! Very helpful advice in this particular post! It’s the little changes that make the greatest changes. Thanks a lot for sharing!

What is happening if displaying comment spams in your web site

    • Google is cracking down on bad links

This doesn’t just include the sites that buy links, but the sites that allow them. The last thing you would want is for Google to think you’re allowing bad links onto your website, even if they are just in the comments.

    • Comment spam shows lack of moderation

Imagine you’re about to buy a home. You are driving through a neighborhood where the lawns are overgrown and some of the fences are covered in graffiti. This is the impression your visitors will have of your blog if the posts are littered with spam – that no one is actively taking care of it.

    • Your readers might lose faith in you

What if a reader clicks on a link to another comment author’s website and is taken somewhere they don’t want to be. If you wouldn’t link to a website in your content, chances are you shouldn’t let someone link to it in your comments.

How to identify comment spams?

Comment spams are just like above examples. There are many links to other web sites. So generally you can identify them as follows.

    • Fake Quotes

Sometimes a spammer will quote your post or part of it without actually replying to the post itself.

    • Many Links

If a comment has more than one link then it may be spam – sometimes it can be real to link more than once but it is rare.

    • Multiple Comments

If the comment is posted twice on different articles they both are probably going to be spam.

    • Unrelated Links

If a comment has links back to an unrelated website it’s probably spam. Why would someone link to buying a new car on a bread recipe website?

    • Generic Comments

If the comment content isn’t really related to the post or is very generic then it just might be spam.
Wow, you’re really awesome: Similar to the above point, if the post is very complimentary then it’s probably rubbish also.

    • Name Field

A big hint is in the name field. If someone says their name is “Car Seller Brighton” instead of “Jim Bobbins” then alarm bells should be ringing.

    • Old Posts

If a post is old real posters normally don’t comment as they realize that the subject is dead.

    • Language

Posting in another language is often a big sign. If you’re site is in English why would someone reply in another language?
